After booze, what better topic to talk about than Guns!

May or may not be the right crowd, but previously I learned alot from my old guild in BF4/MW2-3.

Any other Gun nuts in the crowd? What do you own, what do you want, what should people pay more attention to?

My arsenal:

Rough Rider 22/22mag

ruger mark 3 22/45 bull

Ruger SR22P

Taurus TCP 738

Taurus PT92

Taurus 24/7 OSS 40 cal

Taurus PT145

Taurus Judge 45LC/410

Marlin 795 (22)

Chiappa double badger (22/410)

Rossi 92 (357/38special)

Marlin 336 (30-30)

SKS (7.62x39)

Mosin Nagant (7.62x54R)

Remington 870 express magnum (12)

All I can remember right now. Looking at getting  N-pap AK, but am not sure. Anyone have one.

If you want opinions or info on any of the stuff I own just ask. If there is interest I will get pictures up. The SKS has been heavily modified at this point, looks pretty cool I think.

Thanks.

I don't own any myself, but I've got several friends that own a pretty hefty variety between them, primarily handguns. I buy plenty of ammo and just go out to the range with them. First gun I ever shot was a Jericho .40; the most exciting was probably a Barrett .50 (I don't recall the model) that a spokesman was bringing around to a few outdoor ranges to drum up interest. It's a hobby that I keep meaning to get into, and just haven't gotten around to yet. Always enjoy hearing and chatting about them, though. It's a surprisingly popular hobby up here in Canada, despite a reputation for the opposite.

If i could only have 1 gun I think it would still be my 870. Nothing you cannot do with a good shotgun.

As for the PPK, I have heard great things about the PPX from walther. I have also heard great things (and have a crazy gun uncle.. owns like $15,000 at any time and does all sorts of traiding) who carries a Bersa Thunder as his CC. I have shot them and they are nice, pretty much the exact form factor of the PPK.  at 1/2 the price its probably worth looking at. Unless you just want it because James Bond had one, which is why the price is where it is at IMO.

I may be in the minority, but i would still take a 870 over a BM4.

sure... I cannot, with a 870, fire 6 or 7 shots in under 1 second. But its 12 guage, I have no idea why I would ever need to. I would rather take time and not waste ammo and extra time in reloading. I will take the Pump that I stand a much better chance of fixing myself if it ever came to that.

Thats in general at least. If I was running a 3 gun comp or something, then sure, M4.

Note the BM4 will have the smoothest recoil for a 12 guage, while that 870 kicks like a mule, depending on your frame, of course.  It's up to you to pull the trigger to dispense those rounds.  Expensive, but they never break.

For personal protection I carry either a tiny Beretta Tomcat to a Walther PPS, but learned to favor the Walther. No recoil, which is nice for the smaller frame/hand :)

I am lucky and get to work with a 6'6" 250 frame. I carry the PT145 (10 rounds of 45 really really should be plenty) or, if I am in very light dress, the TCP 380. Pocket pistol with 6 rounds of 380.

And as I said, nothing at all wrong with the BM4. Great gun (marines use it). But if I could only have 1, and it had to do everything including get me food and protection, I would still take 870. If I am buying I would rather have the $1400 difference for ammo. That's alot of (o so critical to be good) practice.

IMO my 870 has less recoil than any other shotgun i have fired. I have never had the chance to fire a semi auto shotgun though. It definitely is just a smoother shot than any single shot/double barrels or even mossberg 500 or maverick i have compared it to. Hell shooting a little single shot 20 gauge isint even fun because they are so light and rape your shoulder.

Don't listen to that nay-sayer, Mage, he's just mad about the he/she last week that told him he couldn't pull off the cowl-neck sweater and skinny jeans combo he was wearing. So sensitive.
