Whale cum to the new site project; please use this thread for suggestions, feedback, bugs, etc.

I still have a lot to add/finish, so be patient. I needed to go live with what I have so far to reduce the number of thread/user/post imports I had to do from the old site.Please keep this thread relatively clean, so that I can sort through everyone's issues.

Thank you, Genius!! The site looks awesome and I am super excited to play around with it more LOL Though you are probably sick of me saying "this doesn't work"

 

 

Folks - Gen has spent the better part of his free time over the last week or so on the site. There's a TON of new features, and more that he will be adding. Ive put a few old siege videos up for the main page, but would love to start populating it with more things. If folks start playing a new game they like, post about it and lets get it up there!

 

 

Just a small tidbit I would like to point out too - the background is something Genius painted a few years ago. Very cool and I like it much better than the old one!!

Here's what I found so far:

 

Private Messages

• Can’t seem to move messages. When I click on the drop down to move them to a folder, the site doesn’t do anything. It’s like there should be a Go button or something, but I don’t see anything

 

Calendar

• Reoccurring events are not populating. It shows the initial event, but not the future ones
• On main page, the calendar preview thing shows blank, even when events are created

 

Admin Control Panel

• Remove secondary group

 

General Layout

• Recent Topics shows on main forum page, which could probably be removed to save on space
• www.srejects.com goes to forum page, instead of index page

 

Profile Fields

• Can we add the Steam and Facebook custom fields? I found a site that explains how to do it. http://invisionfocus...-contact-field/
• Can we configure the ranks / group icons? I see that I can edit the options, but I cant see what were editing them to. It looks like the icons are stored somewhere on the site directory itself

 

Shoutbox

• Has the “new message” icon on it, even when there’s not a new message. This could be my browser, I dunno

 

Front Page

• Can the news be sorted by created date? Not last updated date?

 

Weird Thing I cant Explain

• In the Template used for new apps, somehow the Scripts attachment found its way there and I cant remove it. I have no idea how this happened: http://www.srejects....r-new-recruits/  make sure to click 'use full editor' - i removed the attachment and added it to the appropriate post

Can we get a module that checks that members are logging into a linked Facebook profile each day, and if they're found slacking, it automatically warns them?

It only displays recent topics, and not recent posts.  I'm going to work on trying to change this, since I'm more interested in the recent posts.

If you import an animated gif from url, it is no longer an animated gif.  I tried 5 different ones.

It may be too big. I was having the same problem. If you shrink it down, it may work

It would, but since it's a known issue, it's better this way.

Sooooo I finally cleaned out my mailbox and I noticed that when I click on the Messages button and it pops up the preview, it does not update based on whats actually in my inbox. So its got all the PM's Ive already deleted / moved

So, you're saying the list of recent messages includes deleted/moved messages, even though they're still the most recent?
