Alliances -

http://elderscrolls....ctions_(Online)

Daggerfall Covenant

Aldmeri Dominion

Ebonheart Pact

My choice - Daggerfall

Pros/Cons -

Pros - Best Racial (YES, I'M ABOUT TO GET RACIAL, FOO!) benefits to major class roles (IE: Best mage - Breton, Best heavy - orc, Most versatile soldier/rogue/whatever race - Redgard). The buffs alone to these races more than outweigh those of other combined races. Not only is it beneficial to leveling, but also to world pvp (since your increased damage/tankiness would give you a greater edge in combat).

Also, the map location seems better, if it ever comes to that imo. You have Ebonheart spread thin on their front lines. I doubt that there will be any sort of mass zone sea to land based combat, but should the developers implement such, there would be a massive Scylla and Charybdis between Auridon and Stros M'Kai. AD appears that it could be easily cut off from EHP.

Cons - Starting zone is two areas instead of one gigantic zone. Should there be a pvp area that has a large amount of water, Argonian ambushes could prove... problematic.

Storyline based problems are that their major trade routes have been disrupted by the fall of the Imperial City. However, this means that they have the most to gain - and overall mutually benefit Cyrodil - by taking the Throne.

Discuss. Please list your choice for an alliance, but try to keep it in a similar format (or add to), for the sake of simplicity.

Racials shouldnt matter too bad if everyone preordered..each preorder is allowed any race to place in any alliance.. From what i could tell from the starting zones 1-10 dominion is the most compact and less running involved...but end game that wouldnt matter..just might get there quicker.

I think most people I asked did say daggerfall.. but let's get more input!  I preordered so I will just go with whatever everyone decides, no vote here either way.

Quite a few of us preordered the imperial edition because of a 20% off deal that expired today.

If you are on the fence come try out the beta this weekend and see for yourself

what is it?  99.99 for that version?  Seems to have the same exact ingame freebies as the basic version.  Minus the map and figurine

Hi Semper :)

Heres my opinion from someone who knows very little of the game. (pros, let me know if i got this right)

1) Skill based improvement, rather than set class. Meaning, you want to be a caster in plate armor, while dumb, you can. The more ypu get hit, the more your full plate armor skill improves. This has many aspects, but boils down (for me) in being able to make a class I want.
2) You can kill elves (and it sounds like thats Daggerfall, right? The orc side?) My love of killing elves comes second only to my love of killing zombies... maybe EoS.
3) Its very pretty
4) PvP seems to be more open worldish than mini. Entire zones are used for pvp battles
5) I loved Obvilion and Skyrim. I seroiusly hope you can rob stores blind in this game. Cause I will be doing it... all the time
6) The thing that makes this different for me than GW2 or SWTOR is he graphics seem.. less animeish. I dont mind cartoony if done right, like Borderlands / Wildstar, but I hated GW2's graphics.

These are off the top of my head :) I have not played the beta yet, so my opinion may change

You guys should remember that guilds can actually claim keeps in cyrodiil. Whats cool about it is they can be challenged for anytime by the opposing factions. If a guild can't capture a keep you can capture an outpost or similar. Not sure what kind of bonuses you get for owning a keep or an outpost.

As for alliances I don't want to choose one based on the starting zone, we can choose based on something else.

The thing about capturing and holding a keep art, is we need numbers. From the start we sure wont have the numbers to be able to accomplish that. Maybe some months down the road though? On the plus side, we will have access to alliance controlled keeps other large ally guilds have

Ok, I preordered my imperial copy today with the 20% off.   64.00 is not a bad deal at all!  So I'm in, but will still play AoC as well!

Also thanks for your pov on that Getta, as it did help me make my decision.  Although I kind of find that high Elf in the video to be very badass, and you being a elf killer.  Not sure how that will play out :P

To add on, every player gain a number of buffs that increases your damage, health pool for example the more keeps and outpost the alliance hold. Guilds who captured a keep or outpost can set up their own guild store, which allows the guild to sell stuffs to other players other than guildies.
