WTH is Black Desert? It looks gay.
Its a new MMO. It was originally released in Korea and has been ported over to US and Europe.
The game is buy to play. Meaning no sub! But, you have to buy the game. The game can be purchased [ here ]
is my opinion on pros / cons (as observed in the very short time I had to play beta)
Pros
- Combat is not point and click. It requires you to do a sequence of keys to do combos (example: post here shows skill calculator / key combos [ here ]
- Some combos can be loaded to a hot bar, but not all
- It looks like you can have two hot bars, but I didn't get this too far into it, so don't hold my feet to the fire if its not there
- Game appears to be "G Key" friendly (or whatever you use to hot key certain things)
- A lot of the quests seem to be kill based - so go to X area and kill X monsters
- All the little things - you learn more about monsters (by killing them) and therefore kill them better
- No level cap - though EXP is set to slow down significantly at 50-55
- Cash shop is not pay to win - its convenience or cosmetic item
- There is a feature that auto runs you to your next quest / waypoint
- Very rich trading / crafting system
- You can flag yourself for open world PvP (just watch the equivalent of Murder Points)
- There are PvP Guild Wars, robbing caravans, battlegrounds, and sieges
Cons
- I feel the game is more centered around your keyboard. A Gamepad or MMO mouse may make a lot of this easier. If your a "clicker", you may get mad at the mechanics at first
- i.e. Using Ctrl activates your cursor. Rebinding that to a mouse key was one of the first things I did lol
- While the auto run feature is great, I think you do have to run everywhere (but you can get / train a mount)
- While the trading / crafting system appears to be very rich, its a bit confusing
- PvP starts at level 50 (big bummer)
- Guild invites have to be done in person
Unknown
- I don't know what the end game content or raid situation look like. From what I can tell on the Internet, there isn't going to be much at launch - but it sounds like they intend on creating some. There are a couple dungeons - but they don't sound very large
- More info about the guild management system
