...Camaro SS and Trans Am WS6 routinely embarrassed the Cobra to 60 mph and through the quarter mile.
2004 Ford Mustang Cobra SVT 0-60 4.5 1/4mi 12.9
2006 Chevrolet Corvette ZO6 0-60 3.5 1/4mi 11.5
Keep in mind, this is Ford's silly "racecar", with no AC, stereo, etc. (The stripped, track version.) That Z06 is fully loaded, and owning one doesn't mean you have to drink Bud Light for the rest of your life.

Ford loves to play with their overhead cams, but it only makes it sound good, not go fast. They should take some lessons from Honda or Toyota, or just go back to overhead valve.
Ford always had the distributor up front, since you'd be dicking with it every day anyway.

^^^LOL^^^but i will tell you this, a 2004 Mustang Cobra with a smaller pulley and exhaust will beat a Vette! i've seen it done time and time at the track! Vette does not have any traction whats so ever... but that dont matter cause the Vette is not pushing nearly 500hp to the wheels now is it?
but this is interesting. for 30,000 you could buy a SVT Cobra. for 45,000-50,000 a z06!
smaller pulley for the Cobra = Vette goes home broken hearted!
Firstly, I'm talking about this car

The best Mustang out.
Secondly, pullies and exhaust do not make your car that much faster. You sound like an advertisement *THIS EXHAUST WILL GIVE YOU 30HP!!!* or *UNDERDRIVE PULLEY ACHIEVES 25 RWHP!!!* which you certainly know is NOT the case. Pulleys will net a maximum of 10rwhp, and exhaust will net in the neighborhood of 5. Impressive.
I wasn't raised with the "Fords suck" mentality, I arrived at it. I've spent COUNTLESS hours working with bolt-ons, forced induction, engine swaps, and fabrication. I've run NUMEROUS dyno sessions, before and after work is performed. It boils down to this realization. Many people are Ford fanboys, but smart ones admit that the same work in both engines/cars will never produce Ford as the winner.
There's a reason the majority of car builders and offroad racers use GM engines/trannies, even in Ford bodies.
PS - I'm arguing against your points, not against you.

The best Mustang out.
^^ that is not the best Cobra out, they only made that car 1 year. for obvious reasons it was to much to buy!
now the best production Cobra out was made for 2 yrs. 2003-2004! and yes i have seen a stock Cobra with just a pulley and exhaust SLP loud mouths, run low 11's!!!! it was making over 15ibs. of boost....
i'm not arguing with u either g, but we obviously have some diffrent understandings!
my dads truck for example. 1993 Ford Lightning full roller motor
351 windsor
bored .030 over
trick flow heads
big cam like a 545 lift
edelbrock intake
vortech centrifugal blower 15lbs. boost w/ intercooler
magnaflow single exhaust 3in. custom headers
runs mid 11's on 91 octane
making over 600hp to the wheels... maybe 10 grand invested
i love Fords always have... and i like some GM's. but if i were to put my money into something, Mustangs all the way!
