About the only good piece of drivetrain engineering Ford ever produced is the 9" rear end. You'd have to go with either that, or the Chrisman 10".
Currie Enterprises has a good set of housings.
Here's mine about 8 mos ago, and I still have yet to put it under the truck. It's been trussed and collecting dust.
It's another 4 weeks downtime and $9000 to get it situated.
They take the abuse, though.

lol
Nodular 9+ Extra HD race case, Spool,4.56, 35 spline axles,n, Wilwood 6-calipers, gusseted with 4-link truss (I charge a lot for my labor) .
It'll handle offroad abuse on 37" tires with up to 850hp.
It'd end up closer to $3200.

yeah g, those rearends are very nice and very strong! and i also know how much it costs to really build one. not just throw it together. now all u need to for that rearend is a nice Ford Racing modular V8! aahhh about 700 hp sounds good to me!
God loves Voo!!!!

but i must say after writing what i did, that a ford 8.8 is also very strong. with the right parts they are virtually indistructable!

8.8 lasts about as long offroad as my relationships
Ford engines still suck. You don't see GMs with Ford engines or trannies. You see Fords with GM engines and trannies.

Thats usually because Chevy engines are still dirt cheap to build (and generally easier).8.8 lasts about as long offroad as my relationships

I think you can build a hi-po chevy engine with parts sold at walmart.
Nice project btw- can we see more pics?
